Crabcakes and Asian Barbequed Chicken Drumsticks

INGREDIENTS for Crab Cakes
1 lb crab meat
(12) saltine crackers
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup diced red onion 
(1) egg beaten
1/2  tsp dry mustard
2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
INGREDIENTS for Chicken Drumsticks with Asian Barbecue Sauce:
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp chinese five-spice powder
16 chicken drumsticks (approx 3lbs)
salt and freshly ground pepper
3/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup sweet asian chile sauce (adjust to taste)
1/4 cup Asian rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup chicken stock
2 tbsp finely chopped fresh ginger
2 large garlic cloves
1 tsp Asian sesame oil
1 cup toasted sesame seeds
Prepare all ingredients

Mix mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, Old bay seasoning, mustard , chopped red onion and egg 

Break crackers into small pieces, crushed completely


Mix in crab meat and crackers to wet mix and make palm size crab cake balls.

Set on spray oiled or buttered roasting sheet

Roast at 425 for approx 15 minutes


Chicken Drumsticks with Asian barbecue sauce

Prepare all ingredients 

Preheat oven to 425 degrees

In a blender, mix the vegetable oil with the five-spice powder.
Add Hoisin sauce, chile sauce, rice vinegar, chicken stock, ginger, garlic and sesame oil.

Puree until smooth.

Transfer to a sauce pan and simmer until slightly thickened - approx 5 minutes

Transfer chicken to a bowl, and toss with sauce until completely covered.

Set chicken on oiled roasting sheet and roast at 425 degrees for approx 45 minutes, brushing with sauce occasionally.
Toast the sesame seeds in a small pan for approx 5 min on med- high heat.

Dip the chicken into a bowl with toasted sesame seeds and plate along side crabcake


Add side salad and roasted asparagus if you'd like to make it a meal, but it's great party food, too!
