Kendra's Red Wine Chili

This recipe was submitted by Standing Sun Wines fan, Kendra!
 
1 1/2 lbs of ground meat (in our case, leftover steak)
1 1/2 onions, chopped
1 1/2 clove garlic, chopped
1 can corn
1 can diced tomatoes and green chiles
1 can black beans
1 can pinto beans with jalapeno peppers
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 cups red wine (Standing Sun Syrah or Pinot Noir)
2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp brown sugar
3 tsp chili powder
Salt/pepper to taste
1 tsp cumin
 
Fry the garlic and onions in olive oil.
Add meat once onions are golden brown, making sure to stir well and keep the meat from overcooking.
 
Once meat is cooked, pour in the rest of the ingredients and simmer on low-medium for a couple hours.
 
Garnish with cheese and fresh country bread, enjoy with a nice glass of Standing sun Syrah or Pinot Noir.
