Standing Sun LIVE in the Winery presents

Tyler Stenson Bio: "The last time I witnessed someone with his kind of presence and voice, one that leaped out beyond the speakers and pulled me in, was when I worked with Garth Brooks. He has it man.” — Don Was about Tyler Stenson
Born in Wyoming but raised in Oregon, Tyler Stenson is an 'Elegant Folk' singer/songwriter from Portland (OR), drawing comparison to songwriter greats such as Cat Stevens, James Taylor and Ryan Adams. While he’s been locally recognized as the two-time 'Songwriter of the Year' by the Portland Songwriters Association and 'Best Male Artist' at the Portland Music Awards, on the national stage, Stenson has received even more impressive praise from the top tier of the music industry. Recently hand-picked by legendary producer Don Was, Stenson was named a Top 10 Finalist in Guitar Center’s Songwriter search (out of 10,000), as well as, hand-selected by Adam Duritz of Counting Crows and music critic Ryan Spaulding, to perform at their Outlaw Roadshow showcases at SxSW and NYC. Stenson has opened for LeAnn Rimes, Chris Isaak, John Popper, Marc Cohn, Matisyahu and more and his music has been heard on SiriusXM’s “The Coffee House” station, multiple Chevrolet commercials and several popular television series. As a multi-song finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) demonstrates, Stenson has proven he’s not just another ‘guy and his guitar’ — his foundational belief that ‘lyric is king’ sets him apart as a true artist worth getting to know.

Sarah Burton Bio: A rambler, a gambler, a lover and a fighter

“Here is acoustic, rock, bluesy, torch, indie jive, country psychedelic, soul-baring beautiful music that those with a need to hear a new point of view ought to get off their butts and obtain. This album matters.”
(John C. McClure, Victory Review Nov. 2011)

"a country dusted folk album of steel guitars and sweet sorrow"
(Brad Wheeler, The Globe & Mail)
