Standing Sun's second tasting room and wine bar, The Bodega, is the oldest wine cellar in Santa Barbara County. It is nestled in the back corner of the historic Casa de la Guerra in downtown Santa Barbara. The Casa de la Guerra was the residence of the fifth commander of the Presidio de Santa Barbara, José de la Guerra y Noriega from 1828 until his death in 1858. Descendants of José lived in the home until 1943. It is now the home of our second tasting room, The Bodega. The word bodega translates to wine cellar so it is fitting for the name of this unique space.
The 430 square foot space can accommodate 20 people seated or 50 people standing within its original, 3 foot thick adobe walls. Amenities include small sound system (perfect for singer/songwriters), wine barrel cocktail tables, couch and lounge furniture, and onsite restrooms.
