WINE ART MUSIC Project

An idea born in a New York City loft, the last night of The Outlaw Roadshow in NYC.... Counting Crows front man Adam Duritz, Counting Crows Album artist Felipe Molina, and Winemaker John Wright sat and talked Wine Art and Music for hours as Outlaw Roadshow artist K Phillips sat at Adams baby grand and sang solo and with friends as the night went on and on....

Felipe and John continued talking art, and soon the plan for Felipe to bring his artwork west to Standing Sun Gallery was in motion. Continued talks via email and phone brought up the idea of adding Felipe's artwork to John's wine and launching a small boutique art label. Talks continued and Felipe came to California to visit the winery, taste through some wines and eventually settled on the Rhone blend and the Syrah. Adam was again involved, as he tasted through the wines and felt that he had something to add. Soon the wines were named by Adam and lyrics were added from one of the latest songs written by Adam, Palisades Park... appropriately reminiscent of all three artists East Coast roots and an affinity to "the shore" and all those beach carnival memories.

The finished project is a true collaboration of friends and artists, bonded over the common theme of Wine Art Music. A handshake deal between these three has turned into the first series of wines released June 1, 2015, including 900 bottles of "Wild Mouse" Rhone Blend, and 900 bottles of "Sky Rocket" Syrah, each bottle hand signed by all three artists and hand numbered 1-900, with accompanying artwork by Felipe Molina and song lyrics by Adam Duritz. This wine completes the dream of winemaker John Wright, born late one night in a New York Loft.
